Council Tax - GOV.UK Scam

Dear all today we had a Email from the so called Council Tax - GOV.UK.

As you can see this don't look real at all but some will think it is.


Things I have noted that tells me it is not real.

1. It was addressed to our Email address not our own names.
   
2. The Email address it was sent from was from live.co.uk Not from a Gov Email address.
   
3. The logo on the top left hand side is a UK TV Licensing Not from your local tax office.
   
4. The next is how they told me the price total benefits (they put GBP 385.50) it should be £385.50p (This is also not true it depends on what you get help with and the money you have coming in)
   
5. The Council Tax department will NEVER send a Email to you it would always be by letter addressed to you.
   

If you have a Email like this please call your Council Tax office and report it right away and then call the police.

NEVER click any links or reply to the Email with bank information.

Warn your family and friends and show them a copy of the Email or better still give them this forum address.
